About GlobeSocket

GlobeSocket is a free tool that answers one travel question fast: do I need a power adapter, and will my devices be safe? Pick where you're travelling from and to, and you get the plug types, the voltage, and a clear verdict in one tap.

Why it exists

Most plug information online is buried in long articles or scattered across country pages. GlobeSocket turns it into an instant answer, then backs it up with a plain-English guide for each destination, including the difference between a plug adapter and a voltage converter.

Where the data comes from

Plug types, voltages and frequencies are based on the IEC-referenced standards published by worldstandards.eu, covering more than 195 countries and territories. Electrical standards vary by building age and region, so for high-stakes equipment always confirm with the device manufacturer.

This is indicative travel guidance, not electrical engineering advice. When in doubt, check the label on your device (look for "INPUT: 100-240 V") and the socket in front of you.
